I haven’t cared about what BadEmpanada has to say about much of anything for some time now. It’s not that he’s wrong about everything, or even wrong about this, necessarily, he’s just misguided. His insights aren’t insights so much as they are the musings of an ideologue. He’s never been in a position where he’s had to try and put his theories into practice, and it shows.
Nah fuck that. I’ve guy murdered a woman! Absolutely dismantle the system that does push people to joining for a job that’s pretty fucked ip, but the system didn’t murder a woman, a person did. There’s a vast difference in killing someone in combat 20 years ago and shooting a widowed mother of 3 in the face during a traffic stop.
I don’t honestly care if you agree with me or not, but a large portion of why progressivism / anticapitalism feels like such an unsupported cause is because so many of you are militantly opposed to the idea of personal change.
“He was a tool of the oppressor 20 years ago, so he’s tainted for life!” is not how you build support.
