They think that Maduro is one of the uber men who thinks just like they do and if they bully him he’ll crack like they all would. They see a strong man and think if they take him out everything around him will devolve into a feeding frenzy because that is what they would do.

You think so? I feel like that’s just pushing the idea that the USA and CIA are stupid and one dimensional. I simply don’t think that all those couped and invaded countries, all those countries that are getting pumped full of pro-US propaganda because of the far reaching tentacles of the USA, are getting done in by some idiots that only know how to flex and throw money around.

    Maybe i am just pessimistic?

Sure, maybe not the same exact people, but…idk has the CIA actually proven themselves to be less capable? (genuine question) - I guess the venezuelans will soon figure out how capable the agency still is.

The CIA has gone under significant changes since the church committee. Things they weren’t “supposed” to do got split off into different orgs. Propaganda and soft coups to the NED. Kinetics and drug running to JSOC.

This action is screams SEAL Team 6. They probably had someone in Trumps cabinet constantly reminding Trump that they can abduct Maduro ‘whenever, where ever, just give us the order!’ without thinking about the consequences.

Donald Trump’s greater transparency and equitable aggression towards high-income countries are evidences that the US government had changed in their type of corruption. Trump’s confession that the US monopolized Venezuelan oils before Socialist president Chavez and the confession that the US planned annex Venezuela except in name did much to improve honesty.

They aren’t stupid they are just ideologues. They are the richest and most powerful people on earth and they got there because of their adherence to their nihilistic anti-morality. In their mind it is the only way anyone gains power.

They thought they could topple Putin because they believed their own bullshit about him being a ruthless assassin. They never considered that he actually cared about Russians. trump thought he could bribe Kim Jong Un into giving up his nukes because they believed their own lies that he was a sadistic monarch who tortures and starves people for fun (like they do).

They do have a lot of ways the can flex and most of them kill lots of people and their ability to throw money around is waning. They don’t have a third move because diplomacy requires looking at the other party as equal.
