    You’d think with a name like Human Resources people wouldn’t be that confused. They’re literally there to keep the humans working, as they’re seen as resources to be spent by the company.

    This is such a common misconception. HR are not and have not ever been on the side of employees. They are an employer function.

    HR is on your side, it’s just that there’s no exclusivity there. They just follow the letter of the law.

      There are labour disputes, a fraction of which reaches courts, showing HR doesn’t always follow the letter of the law.

      Even when they do, expect them to put company interest before yours.
