I’m in the UK and only once have I been in a cinema where people were shouting the things. It was some pretty mediocre horror thing and there were some teenagers shouting jokes but it was only like two times. The cinema was pretty much empty and it was just us and them; I think they just found the film a bit boring (we certainly did).
I always thought those concierges in fancy hotels act a bit like that. I’ve heard that guests can show up with weird rich person problems and be like “I need three gold Ferraris by 9pm” and the concierges will have to make it happen.
I use Linux (though dual boot Windows for Fusion 360 and a lot of Windows at work), but if someone asks me about switching to Linux I don’t ram it down their throat. It’s good and all but it’s really not for everyone, and despite what people on here would have you think it’s certainly not as easy to use as Windows. You’re much more likely to run into a difficult problem and not know how to fix it though it’s changed a bit since you can just get Claude to take a look at things now. Windows can have annoyances but generally you can live with them.
Linux, I think, is for people who are quite technical and people who aren’t technical at all (and just need a web browser). For the people inbetween Linux can be a struggle. It’s improving incredibly quickly but the out-of-the-box experience is still pretty terrible (looking especially at KDE here).
When I was looking for a job an awful long time ago I was sending 8 a day and that seems small time compared to what you’d need to do now. Most of these places will have AI doing first soft on the applications anyway so don’t feel like you’ll be annoying anyone.

Trump can’t love too much longer given his age and the MAGA movement will die with him since nobody else has been able to attract the same kind of attention.

I honestly think incentivising people to move to electric is better than punishing people who are staying out. The combustion ban seems to be a bit of a catalyst for the anti-green energy people while plenty of people seem to be going electric anyway. Right now it seems like you need a good excuse not to go electric when you buy a new car.

I don’t know what I have to do to get a game listed on GOG though. I don’t buy a lot of games but I think the last three I tried to buy were all unavailable on GOG. There’s that page where you can wish for a game on GOG but I’ve no idea how effective that is.
Were the definitely yours? Maybe they got caught up in the wind we had and accidentally mixed up with another house.

I’m into home distilling and there’s some guy called Alex who posted under Bokakob and designed a still back in 2001 and posted it on homedistiller.org. That design is still in use today and nobody really knows much about that guy or heard from him much since.

I had some friends who would go on holiday and come back with VHS tapes with badly photocopied covers. The films were really bad quality as well. I was too young to understand what piracy was so I just thought that really bad videos were normal in the country to which they were going.
Off topic but I always thought Vista was pretty good. A lot of the stuff people hated was just change. Things like UAC are normal now, can you image how bad it would be if everything still ran as administrator? Vista basically threw itself on the grenade.
