Oh, I just read its your first one… Yes, it’s a difficult brew.

I find it difficult to adjust to the induction stove in general. Maybe one of those plates you use with the regular aluminium pot? The stove manual do not recomnend using those.
I know. I did not clean my first one but after watching some internet gurus I started cleaning it regularly (not every batch). I even remember the line “even if alfonso bialetti himself rises from the grave to tell you to not clean your moka do not listen to him” haha Truth be told I don’t even like cleaning my french press.
What type of manual espresso so you have? I find regular espresso machines too expensive for me but I was thinking of getting a flair.
I prefer pour over taste but this is my favorite brewing experience. I didn’t use it as often because I don’t like cleaning the pot and now we switched to an induction stove and I can’t use it.

7·8 days agoYoshis Island Silent Hill Shadow of the colossus Majoras Mask Outer Wilds
There are a lot of games I played a lot of times but maybe because I had no others and had a ton of time. Nowadays I would only replay Yoshis Island and Shadow of the colossus. I dont know if would replay SH but I played it a ton when young and it cemented my love for survival horror games. I only went through Majoras Mask once or twice, I was more of a Playstation kid than a Nintendo one. I recently played Outer Wilds and it was an awesome unexpected experience.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Tired of expensive disposable batteries and rechargeable AA suck. So I made a 10k mAh pack for my deadbolt.English
2·10 days agoI dont love the gazillion batteries my lock uses… but it’s been around a year since it was installed and it has about 50% battery left. I don’t have it connected to the internet. I love replacing AAs and AAAs for rechargable lipos but I KNOW my wife won’t approve, haha.
We keep a giant jar of instant coffee because my wife doesn’t like my coffee. She likes her coffee super weak so a giant jar should not be necessary but from time to time I run out of coffee beans and will drink instant instead and go thorugh it super fast. I also like instant for iced coffee because I usually forget to prep the cold brew.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•How can I convince fellow lazy students that they shouldn't need chatbots to help them learn?
271·4 months agoThere have always been ways to not do the work, even before AI or online classes. I always tried to make my students think of it as wasting money (either theirs or their parents) paying for school and not learning. Once in a while a student would argue employers only cared about the diploma and I would always encourage them to drop out and become the next Mark Zuckerberg. The truth is, teens and young adults are not ready yet to understand this and my hope was someone would remember my words in the future, just as I understood some of my teachers advice way after I took their classes.

Haha, sorry! By no means I’m an expert but the taste of moka pot coffee in my experience has always been how you describe it, rough. Never quite like an espresso. I like using the machine but I don’t love the coffee it makes. This is what I do: cleaning the pot regulary, boiling the water in the base first and then screwing the top, lower the heat when the coffee starts coming out and adding a filter seems to help.
