“Shop like a billionaire” indeed
To facilitate punching down, as bullies do
Another bullshit headline. He didn’t admit anything of the sort. He did overpromise and underdeliver, as he always does. This can be construed as a failure. He did not, however, “admit” failure.
Whether he’s alive or not, it’s more that they don’t care and don’t want to be told they have to do anything by some liberal activist judge.
Liberating Americans from what little capital they have left
Why the hell do these people want to be enslaved in factories anyway?
There is a very specific type of American subset that is in love with that fantasy. Real, honest, hard, labor, subservient and reliable. It gives some people purpose, value, even hope. Even for those who did not experience it firsthand, there is a tangible sense of loss for that type of American experience.
Like religion, labor can function as meaning when life appears too complex for deeper understanding.
There are a lot of “you can tell by the way it is” type comments so I’ll be specific. Zoom in on the eyes of the Native American. Observe how the Union officer isn’t really gripping his arm with that hand. The little boy in the final panel is missing eye details.
There are some other telling details but those jump out right away.
News that isn’t news is just clickbait. Content. Rage bait. It’s the state of journalism, responding to changes in the distribution model and drop in demand for quality.
Read the headlines. Slams, hints, calls for, demands, suggests… It’s all talk and no action. It’s not news it’s gossip. What have we gained by endlessly platforming America’s stupidest and most odious liars? High blood pressure.
He didn’t say this. I’m dunking on their predictability and craven natures. Guess I wasn’t too far off the mark.
“We all do it, we all go home and tell our wives about our day at work, this is… look its basically the same thing… it’s completely normal behavior and the radical lunatic left wants to act like sharing national security secrets with family members at the dinner table is tantamount to treason is just like… like c’mon…”
Hey we’ve been taking vitamins for decades now, they’ve been proven safe!
Wait
Could be the one thing to finally bring peace to the Thanksgiving dinner table, if maga gampa is super pissed about losing his Social Security and decides his “woke” granddaughter maybe has a point after all
Extortion, bootlicking, and corruption. Just another day in America.
Burned at the stake, hanged, crushed, or drowned. Plenty of options.
Jocks all the way. Can’t stand all the material grabbing and creeping and all that. Just need to protect and support the sensitive bits.
🙋 Coffee?
I don’t think the victim here is a leftist. Trucker hat, rolled up sleeves; he’s a working class conservative who’s getting hammered by Trumps policies. He is still blaming Biden against all evidence.
Topic is about Lemmy as a whole, and I’m responding with my impression of that. Your re-interpretation of my impression doesn’t really make sense to me. I’m sure others have different experiences with their own usage of Lemmy but mine does not revolve around my instance enough for me to even form an impression of it. It certainly doesn’t dominate my user experience.
I do appreciate the responses here hinting that I’m wrong about my experience on Lemmy but I had a 13 year old Reddit account that I nuked after the API debacle and I remember the monoculture that developed. Lemmy is not Reddit even if a few instances have their own subcultures. Doesn’t invalidate my impression.
Thanks for pointing out how my opinion is wrong though.
That it doesn’t feel like a culture at all, that you have to adopt. There’s genuine discussion, not just a few top meme-comments and a sea of ignored participation.
I have a staunchly leftist but older co-worker who thinks no one she knew growing up had autism.
“I still think something is causing it” despite being pro-vaxx.
The propaganda is extremely effective unfortunately
