Datacenters are not just for AI.

This is potentially worse than you’d immediately think. Literally everything that exists in “the cloud” is in a datacenter and is not exclusively AI. Remember when AWS went down and half the internet went down with it? Now imagine the datacenters actually got destroyed and it wasn’t just a software bug. Imagine if the datacenters went down for your bank account or healthcare provider. Sure this is only happening in the Middle East at the moment, but as we’ve been learning more and more these days, if it can happen “over there” it can happen here too. Wherever “here” may be, this can affect you.

Bombing an elementary school is absolutely horrific and evil, don’t get me wrong. But I’m pretty sure sexually abusing and trafficking 100s if not 1000s of girls while also murdering an unknown number of them over the course of decades is substantially worse.

I used to pay for premium a couple years ago because I still wanted to support the creators I watched, but ever since they started implementing AI everywhere and stealing peoples videos for training data I figured Google doesn’t deserve my money no matter how small. I’d much rather watch with uBlock and spend that $20 I used to spend on YouTube Premium on the various YouTubers Patreons.

I heard it was Meta pushing all this age verification legislation all over the country. And of not, I’m sure it’s some other evil company.

I just hope this gets more huge companies to start suing. I’ve already accepted that I won’t see any of that money again so I’d at least love to see how far this goes.

I still see posts all over the internet every day about the files. I think it’s also that there hasn’t been any new files or revelations since the Iran war started except for that dump yesterday. It’s not that there’s less interest, it’s that those that are intensely interested are either still going through them or waiting for the next big thing like when (former) prince Andrew was arrested. I’m sure as soon as the next big thing comes up it’ll jump right back up. And I’m sure in that same week the war will escalate. It’s just a big tug o’ war on our attention spans.

My guess is that the IP got flagged. In my personal experience, around 70% of VPN servers in California don’t let me post on Lemmy for some reason so I just avoid that area entirely at this point. Unfortunately, shitty people use VPNs to do shitty things too.

The purpose of this is that right wing news media will only report what Trump said while never mentioning the rebuttal. Now they’ll do whatever they want and when they get push back they’ll say “yeah but you said we could” and all of his fans will back him up. And since Trump purged most of the senior military that opposed him the military will most likely back him up too. So now if there’s an international incident involving the illegal use of US military bases in Spain they can say it was Spain that broke the agreement.

Facts don’t matter for these people. They only care about what their dear leader says while everything else is noise or ignored entirely. Essentially, this message isn’t for us or Spain, it was for MAGA.

Biggest reason I haven’t bought it yet. The first one scratches the itch just fine, especially with mods. Every time I see it on sale I just check the reviews and usually come to the same conclusion and just go back to the first.

I think she’s just a crazy person that fully drank the Cool Ade for years and 100% believed everything MAGA and Trump said. She has no critical thinking skills but got burned by Trump and that’s the only reason she’s seeing things differently. The classic “I didn’t know this would happen until it affected me” situation. Still absolutely crazy with zero critical thinking skills, though. She’s not my friend, but I’m extremely glad she’s the enemy of Trump now.
