im not arguing the kinect itself is making anything immersive. just that the voice commands itself as a concept and in practice were immersive

it was only used on kinect. if it was on mics, would you complain they locked that behind owning a mic?

they didnt, kinect had the means to actually make it feasible and possible. if someone makes a voice command mod id love to see it

i actually looked it up, its because the kinect already came with a built in voice recognition software for devs to use. but if they wanted a regular mic to work, theyd have to make their own software for it which would be more time and effort for something not everybody’s going to use

a shame as it would be really fun if every game had that

so…why havent they done it again?

only other games i even know of that utilize a mic in that way are guitar hero, rock band, and that alien game. but they just detect pitch and sound not specific words
