nah dude Minecraft is great. sandbox game that allows creativity and problem solving and whatnot.
now, the microsoft-approved and promoted servers and ad content, fuck all that shit with bedrock. but basic Minecraft is great. just gotta get your kid onto basic java and away from bedrock where they serve you ads and shit
Its been a number of years since I played either version, dont you pay for java and for bedrock? Why do they insert ads? Back in abt 2019 I didn’t see any of that on Bedrock
Generally if you own a license for one version on PC you also get a license for the other, but it does sound like there’s cases where you don’t.
When I got my eldest a license it covered both Java and Bedrock, and my license that dates back to the Beta days also gave me a free Bedrock license (I tried the Nvidia RTX demos then realized how incredibly limited Bedrock was because it would t let me play a normal world in RTX and so I said “screw this” and went back to Java)
I’m pretty sure my wife’s fairly new license also gave us both Java and Bedrock edition licenses too, but she’s never tried Bedrock
I don’t think it’s like external ads, just ads for Minecraft stuff hosted/promoted by Microsoft. idk, I don’t pay attention to them and try to avoid bedrock. but yes, you have to pay for each version of the game, around $30 each
